In 2023 figure skater Kaori Sakamoto (坂本花織) became the first Japanese woman to win back to back World Figure Skating Championships. This portrait was inspired by the first moments of her short program, focusing on the expressive movements of her arms. Gentle, light tones and high contrast shadows create a striking portrait that retains a feeling of serenity and grace.
Colours may vary slightly between monitors.

I pack paintings for shipping with several layers of plastic, paper, bubble wrap and cardboard for their safety. Wherever possible I try to recycle the packing materials used to ship my supplies and canvases to me, but I do generally use packing tape, and seal the painting in a single use plastic shipping bag. If you'd prefer that I ship your painting with no single use plastics, or even no plastic at all, send me a message after your order and I'll do what I can to accommodate!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in a custom painting - I'll work with you to create something that lines up with your vision including providing you with digital mock up's before I start painting so you can rest assured that I understand what you're looking for. Bear in mind custom oil paintings can take several months to complete depending on size.
