This museum-quality poster printed on thick matte paper features an oil painting of a bouquet of bright yellow sunflowers against a hazy blue background. I painted the original artwork from life, working quickly to capture the the vibrant golden yellows of the petals before they fell. By the time I reached the last leaves they had begun to brown and crisp in the summer air, creating an artwork that depicts not only the natural beauty of the flowers but their transience - they begin lush, verdant green and glowing yellow, the petals fall, the leaves crisp and summer turns to autumn. These sunflowers are long gone, but they live on forever in oil paint and art print, and with them the mid-summer breeze and the rush to capture the petals before they all fluttered away.

I pack paintings for shipping with several layers of plastic, paper, bubble wrap and cardboard for their safety. Wherever possible I try to recycle the packing materials used to ship my supplies and canvases to me, but I do generally use packing tape, and seal the painting in a single use plastic shipping bag. If you'd prefer that I ship your painting with no single use plastics, or even no plastic at all, send me a message after your order and I'll do what I can to accommodate!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in a custom painting - I'll work with you to create something that lines up with your vision including providing you with digital mock up's before I start painting so you can rest assured that I understand what you're looking for. Bear in mind custom oil paintings can take several months to complete depending on size.
