A week before Alysa Liu won Olympic gold I painted this using a spin from her now famous MacArthur Park free skate as inspiration. I wanted to capture the joyous abandon of her movement - the speed, the vibrancy, the carefree confidence - little did I know I was painting an Olympic champion! Since then, Alysa and this performance have won over the hearts of millions - and for the exact reasons I was drawn to paint her. It's wonderful to watch such an athlete who has been such an inspiration to me become an inspiration to the whole world and I hope that this artwork connects with her fans both old and new, as well as figure painting collectors.
Colours may vary slightly between monitors.

I pack paintings for shipping with several layers of plastic, paper, bubble wrap and cardboard for their safety. Wherever possible I try to recycle the packing materials used to ship my supplies and canvases to me, but I do generally use packing tape, and seal the painting in a single use plastic shipping bag. If you'd prefer that I ship your painting with no single use plastics, or even no plastic at all, send me a message after your order and I'll do what I can to accommodate!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in a custom painting - I'll work with you to create something that lines up with your vision including providing you with digital mock up's before I start painting so you can rest assured that I understand what you're looking for. Bear in mind custom oil paintings can take several months to complete depending on size.
