2026 Olympic Bronze medallist Ami Nakai skates with a lightness and joy that perfectly juxtaposes the explosive power of her triple axel. This jump study was made as a celebration of that wonderful combination. The colours are light but saturated greens, purples and blues to give a sense of lightness and energy, while the figure itself is painted in bright reds and deep blue-blacks to create a striking contrast. The black, red and white combination is pulled into the green and blue background to create movement, making for a dynamic and visually stimulating piece of art.

This painting is sold unframed and unmounted. I would advise mounting and framing the artwork behind glass to protect the painting for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

I pack paintings for shipping with several layers of plastic, paper, bubble wrap and cardboard for their safety. Wherever possible I try to recycle the packing materials used to ship my supplies and canvases to me, but I do generally use packing tape, and seal the painting in a single use plastic shipping bag. If you'd prefer that I ship your painting with no single use plastics, or even no plastic at all, send me a message after your order and I'll do what I can to accommodate!

Custom and personalised orders

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in a custom painting - I'll work with you to create something that lines up with your vision including providing you with digital mock up's before I start painting so you can rest assured that I understand what you're looking for. Bear in mind custom oil paintings can take several months to complete depending on size.
